Types of Parapet Walls

A parapet wall is a short wall built along the edge of a roof, terrace, walkway, balcony, etc. Parapet walls can be constructed using different materials like reinforced cement concrete, steel, aluminium, glass etc. Different types of parapet walls and their uses are discussed below.
Embattled Parapet Walls
Embattled parapets were used a lot in the past, especially for castles, forts, etc. The parapet has sections that are both low and high, as well as holes. Perforated Parapet Walls

Panelled Parapet Walls
This type of parapet walls is the same as plain par walls but consists of ornamental panels from the outside. The best thing about the panelled parapet walls is that they are decorated on the outside with a variety of different panel designs. The walls of the panelled parapet don't have any holes in them. It is generally used for inclined roof structures. Stepped parapet walls is constructed like a staircase type design.
